i found the solution to this problem: "chmod 777 /home/storage"...
But this brings up the trouble i had earlier here:
http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2812 and here:

users are able to change album permissions
after updating my bubba2 i found that users are able to change permissions to all picturefolders.
When navigating as a user (using the web UI) to the album the link "manage albums" is available. This takes the user to the album manager where the user is able to, for example, grant anonymous access ...

Re: permissions of /home/storage
Thank you for this! That's the idea i needed
It works perfectly. (though not with chmod 760 but with 750). Within the file manager users get a nice "permission denied" and mediatomb works again.
cheers

i tried IE 6.0 - IE doesn't show the image but offers to save as...
Google Chrome does show the image the right way.
Save as... adds no extension. I'll fix this myself. thanks

downloading full album photo
when i try to download a photo from my album the file extension is missing. Now my viewer doesn't recognise it as a picture. Worst of all: the error makes it impossible for my mother to view the full pictures ;-)
i can't find a way to explain her to rename every picture to xxxx.jpg :-)
