Re: Debian buster (10) image 1.0 released for B3
I would be most grateful. I've migrated all essential data from the machine, ready to mostly decommission out of security vulnerability. And life you might breath into it would be welcomed.

Re: Debian buster (10) image 1.0 released for B3
Thanks, MouetteE.
Guess I'll be looking for a Bubba replacement, then. Too bad. This was a good little unit for 12 years. Cheap, quiet and cold.

Re: Debian buster (10) image 1.0 released for B3
Has anyone tried this image with B2? (Or does anyone know why it wouldn't work with B2)?
And if it won't, are there other recommended options?

Re: Debian dist-upgrade on B2 & B3
Thanks for the step-by-step. I might work up the courage over Thanksgiving (next weekend). Or maybe Christmas when I have some serious time to recovery.

Re: Debian dist-upgrade on B2 & B3
Are there step-by-step semi-newbie friendly instructions on how to perform an upgrade to Jessie on B2 hardware?

eSATA connector help
I've replaced my original Bubba2 500G drive with a 2TB WD Green drive in order to do an upgrade w/o wiping out my data. Now I'd like to connect the 500G to copy over a lot of files to the new disk. I'd prefer to do this through the eSATA(faster than USB) interface but I'm unfamiliar with eSATA ...

Re: B1/2 -> B3 upgrade discount
I'm just chiming in to say this is a wonder nod to the B2 customer base. Unfortunately, I don't think can convince my wife that I need to spend $450 on more muscle for that strange little black box in the corner of the room. Then again, maybe Christmas.
Anyway, thanks for the tip of the hat to the ...

Re: Running Debian lenny or squeeze on Bubba Two
Okay, this looks promising. I don't use any Excito specific applications, so this looks possible.
Is the Excito kernel necessary? Anyone have the build parameters that are different than the defaults?
Thanks for posting this.

Upgrade to Squeeze?
I've had my Bubba II for 2 years now. It's running Lenny with kernel 2.6.32. I don't use any of the Bubba specific interfaces. I just use straight Debian tools. I'd like to know how I would upgrade my Bubba to Squeeze.
apt-get dist-upgrade ?
or is there more to it than that because of the special ...

Re: Release notes for BUBBA|TWO 1.2.3 (SqueezeBox Server)
I'm having trouble getting past the password prompt for the upgrade (apt-get install squeezecenter).

Re: B2+Lenny+SqueezeCenter
Simon, that's great to hear.
I've been considering upgrading Bubba2 by just pointing /etc/apt/sources.list at deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/ testing main non-free contrib and letting it ride. However, I've been a little hesitant due to suspecting the excito people tweaked the kernel in some ...

Re: Crash + Blinking light. What more to do?
I would suspect rtorrent (running under a non-root user process (shell)) ate it all while rehashing a feed (when the item hits 100%). That's all I know of that was going on in system at the time -- other than the usual daemons and possibly fetchmail.

Okay, after about 10 mins of inactivity the drive started cherping and BubbaII came back to life.
