Re: WebDAV support
Even with PAM you still need the webserver process to be abce to read /etc /shadow if you are using local files based authentication. You could configure PAM to use LDAP and oo alc authentication that wayic

UPDATE: Odd or not, I checked my sources.list and it already has an uncommented debian etch main line (last edited november 2008). Still a good idea to comment the line after apt-geting Apache 2 PAM-module?

Re: Re:
What if I'm familiar with all the steps excluding enabling main debian package repositories? ;)
What should the sources.list entry look like?
All you have to do is have a line like:
deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ etch main
(replacing the "uk" with an appropriately close debian mirror ...

You may just set all the computers in your network to static IP's. The result will be the same.
Static DHCP is good when you have a laptop that migrates between more than two networks and needs to have fixed IP addresses on each of them. This has been the case for me where I've had two different ...

Re: wordpress install problem
4. mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO wordpress@localhost
IDENTIFIED BY ‘wordpresspassword’ WITH GRANT OPTION;
I suspect that this might be your problem. It looks like the db exists but the php process running as an Apache module can't see it.
As you've configured things, the database ...

Re: Problem getting NFS server running
I followed the guide from this thread (using etch instead of sarge) to set up a NFS server on my Bubba two, but I can't get it to run. Anyone who can help me out?
Your problem is that the Bubba 2 kernel packages don't include the nfsd module. See this thread .

Ok, it took a certain amount of fiddling on my part because I was trying to get it to authenticate with PAM and had also broken my virtual host config at the same time but basically here's what I did:

Re: nfs server needed
Not having nfs is very inconvenient. :(
I expected it was working in the first place.
It's worth pointing out that the user mode nfs server does work and if you can live with its limitations, will do just fine. You do need to go in via ssh and do an apt-get update && apt-get install nfs-user ...

WebDAV support
In the quest for new ways to get at my files, I've set my Bubba2 up to run as a webdav server on the https virtual host with authentication via PAM. It's very handy for getting at my files when behind a firewall that blocks outgoing except to well known ports....

Workaround found...
Turns out that this is another manifestation of the silicon bug in the freescale processor as described in this thread The same workaround using ethtool got the bubba2 working ok.
Probably this should be a FAQ for all instances of networking not working in really strange ways on Bubba2's.
