Re: Is rTorrent 0.8.6 possible on B2

I managed to get rTorrent 0.8.6 running!

1) I removed my rTorrent 0.7.9 that I installed via apt-get

su
apt-get remove rtorrent

2) Automagically install neccessary libs

su
apt-get install libncurses5-dev libsigc++-2.0-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev build-essential
exit

3) Download, unpack ...

[SOLVED] - Is rTorrent 0.8.6 possible on B2

Hello Bubba community

Has anyone got rTorrent 0.8.6 to run on their bubba?

My private BT tracker requires rTorrent 0.8.6, that is not avaliable via apt-get. I found a great guide that nb000 wrote but I can not get it to work, it seems to want to downgrade my system instead of upgrading it.

Hello nb000

Great post abut installing rtorrent 0.8.6 (my tracker no longer accepts 0.7.9-2), but I ran into a problem during the installation of libcurl3 that I hope you can shed some light on. Aptitude wants me to downgrade rtorrent, libcurl and libxmlrpc-c3, se the shell printout below, and that ...

Re: Unrar - multiple volume support

In /etc/apt/sources.list under the entry for ftp.debian.org, add after "main" the string "non-free", after that issue "apt-get update" and "apt-get install rar". This will install the non-free (shareware) version of rar, i.e. http://packages.debian.org/etch/rar.

I did as you said but I got the ...

Unrar - multiple volume support

I would like to decompress rar archives that span over multiple files on my bubba.

unrar-free that is available via apt-get does not have the ability to do so, is there another version of unrar available that handles multiple rar-files?

How to configure timezones and daylight savings hour

I configured the clock on my B2 thru the web interface but it did not survive a reboot of the device, strange!

I proceded and ran

dpkg-reconfigure tzdata

to set my timezone to Europe/Stockholm.

This worked but the sytstem now thinks that the time is +2h, 21:00 became 23:00.

Your default time ...

Glad to hear that the external storage product is in the pipeline, I would appreciate to have the same look and feel on external drives attached to the B2 as the B2 itself.

Do you need to use the web interface to add torrents or would it be ok to log in to the shell or drop the torrentfiles in a "watch" folder in your home directory?

How do you mean?
Do you want a network drive in windows to point on your home folder on B2?

B2 comes with samba preinstalled and it's no problem to map a network drive in windows to your home folder on B2.

Im really interested in the Bubba TWO, this sadly is a big problem for me Since almost all private BT sites require 0.7.9 or later version of rtorrent.

Now I don't know if this page might help I hope someone understands it better then I do.
