Re: B2 receives IP, doesn't connect.
well..yeah. since everything else seemed to be working, my first assumption was to blame the machine that didn't respond right.. but as it turns out, the router was to blame. after some flashing and booting all's well.. so.. there we are. moving on.

B2 receives IP, doesn't connect.
I had to do some rewiring of my network and unplugged everything from my router. After which B2 didn't come online anymore.. The router shows an IP for it and the correct MAC-address, but ping command says "Destination Host Unreachable" and ssh "No route to host".

Re: Update to lenny?
Hi and Bump
I'm a little worried of not receiving security updates anymore for etch. So, will there be any official lenny or squeeze image at all? Cheers.

Re: Installing a windows system on B3?
B3 doesn't have a graphics card or output, so I would guess the answer is "no".Is it possible to install some kind of windwows/graphical system on B3?
Better yet, learn how screen works.I usually just open multiple ssh sessions
Cheers.

Re: Wiki request(s)
You're right. The load average just shoots up when moving stuff from wan to lan. Renicing sshd to -13, below anything else according to top, didn't do anything really.. I don't have anything extra running either. Just irssi, nfs-server and the usual processes. My internet connection is pretty swift ...

Wiki request(s)
Seeing that there's a nice wiki now, I thought I'd post some requests for it. If someone should have the skills (and time) to write them :)

Re: Setting up second NAS
I needed to copy 500gigs to my Bubba, when I replaced the hdd. I just hooked the hdd to my main computer's sata plug.
Of course, you need to use a screwdriver a bit, and it's not over the network, and you need a sata motherboard, but that would be the snappiest way :) Bubba isn't too hard to open ...

Re: iptables port forward
You give you PC an IP address outside of the DHCP server's pool. IIRC,on the Bubbba this is anything below 192.168.10.50.
Oh, ok. I did not know that possibility.
I'm still a bit baffled by that port fwd, but I'm leaning towards the chance that the problem is somehow somewhere else... other ...

Re: iptables port forward
I'm not sure about the iptables stuff but wouldn't it just be easier to give your PC a static IP address of 192.168.10.78?
Dunno.. What happens if I have a static address on a computer, shut it down, the dhcp lease expires, I fire up my laptop, it then receives the same static IP, after which I ...

iptables port forward
I'm trying to forward two ports to my LAN without much success. Nmap shows that those ports, 1411 and 1412, are still closed. These rules are made with the bubba2 interface.
192.168.10.78:1412 / 1411 are the LAN ports I want to forward udp and tcp to.
192.168.10.1 is bubba

Re: Missing man -pages
But do you need the commands?
Please let the guys at Excito do their job and use the Bubba as it is....
It's not that I need the commands, its more about knowing what do they do or why are they there..
For me Bubba is tweaking, tweaking and some more tweaking.. (untill I need to ...

Re: Missing man -pages
Yes, they're very likely made by Excito. Still.. I have never written a man page, but I don't think it's too much of an effort? Just guessing.. of course depending of the scope of the command.
That bubba-networkmanager-cli sounds interesting, and I'm wondering what the function of the bubba-apt ...

Missing man -pages
I found some (odd) software in Bubba2 1.3.0. By typing bubba-networkmanager-cli it just gives 'Requires a command'. But there's no man, or help pages, so if someone could clarify what do they do exactly?
