Cheeseboy, gee thanks for the information!
You have discouraged me from setting up a permanent VPN for sure.
My real intention was to use it only for Transmission torrent downloads, but if the bandwidth will be decreased so much it will be virtually useless.
Thanks again, and happy Christmas ...

SSL FTP and VPN help pleeeeease!
Hi guys,
Since I am a Linux nab, I always google for instructions, but in these two cases I just can't get it working.
1, I want to SFTP to my brother's server, but can't get the darned thing to connect. I use
SFTP brother.no-ip.org -P 60021
But this doesn't result in anything but the help text ...

Re: 500 Gb expansion chokes wifi
Thanks Gordon.
I do find it rather odd that the two Bubba products don't work together as designed.
The Bubba Storage should *really* not disturb the wifi of the B3...
And the supplied esata cable is too short to put it in another location.
I will see if I can find some way to insulate the damned ...

500 Gb expansion chokes wifi
Hi,
I got the 500 Gb expansion disk and mounted it to the B3, which made the wifi unusable.
Extremely slow and with a super high but fluctuating latency.
Measuring against Bredbandskollen I got under 1 Mbit download speed and kbits in upload. (I have a 100 Mbit fiber.)
I removed the expansion and ...

Re: Wifi stopped working...
Same symptoms here, except that i cannot even with a cable.
SSID is broadcasted, but can't connect, not even with a direct tcp/ip cable to the B3.
Both the WAN and LAN lights are active when cables are attached.
Is there no other option but to reformat the drive?

gvfs-mount: There is nothing like that on my b3. An "apt-get install gvfs-mount" yields an error.
Furthermore; this is the only thread on excito with that term.

Re: How do i direct user FTP login to storage folder?
Neither did it for me until I restarted proftpd.
(Just go into admin web interface/services and disable ftp, hit update, enable it and hit update again.)

Forgot all about this, and today I checked the email associated with excito forums. Nice to see a solution!
BUT, I have now tried this on B3, but can't get it working.
Always something.

Re: B3 dies without errors
Have the same problem from time to time.
Tried to update the OS, but it timed out at 97.x%, just retries the connection.
Now I can't access the B3 web interface at all, but as evidenced by this post, can still surf.
Is there a solution for this disconnect problem?

B3 Network dies
Have a B3 wifi.
From time to time the B3 drops all connected computers so they can't access it or the internet.
This is usually fixed by ipconfig /renew, but today I had to hard boot the B3 by pulling the power cord. Didn't even react to the power button.
This is getting annoying, have anyone else ...

IS THERE NO WAY TO RESET THE BUBBA'S IP WITHOUT DELETING THE WHOLE DISK?

Re: Network failure
Thanks Henri,
Everything is dynamic, I have used B2 DHCP.
It was connected to my broadband router on the WAN port, and its LAN port to my 16 port gigabit switch, to which also everything else on my LAN is connected.
The Bubba just isn't visible on the network.
