"So long, and thanks for all the fish..."
After an intensive effort to get my B3 to boot from the rescue image, I gave up. I walked into Webhallen and bought a Raspberry Pi 4. The tinkering and troubleshooting I enjoyed years ago has been replaced with a "I just want it to work !" attitude. My ...

Re: Debian bookworm (12) image 1.0 released for B3
Thanks ! Yeah...I am not having much luck tonight, I even found an old USB stick with the Stretch rescue image I had used before, but no luck in getting it to boot into rescue.
I will try again tomorrow. But thanks for your support !

Re: Debian bookworm (12) image 1.0 released for B3
Hmm, trying to build the rescue image, I get this error at the end of 'make'
make[2]: *** [Makefile:1000: all] Error 2
make[1]: *** [package/pkg-generic.mk:293: /home/clive/b3rescue/buildroot/output/build/host-binutils-2.38/.stamp_built] Error 2

Any ideas ? Or ...

Re: Debian bookworm (12) image 1.0 released for B3
..also, just to check, your rescue USB doesn't automatically reformat and re-install the B3 ? I just want to get in there to see what has gone wrong.

Re: Debian bookworm (12) image 1.0 released for B3
I just performed the upgrade as listed at the top of the page. My previous B3 install was pretty much vanilla, so I am not sure why it failed.
I will look into the rescue option, but currently rebuilding my VPN's on a spare server, I will get to it. ;-)

Re: Debian bookworm (12) image 1.0 released for B3
It's killed my B3, it won't reboot...
Stays at the purple light, although lots of disk activity beforehand whilst attempting to boot.
Any ideas ? As much as I love my ancient B3, I am not sure how much energy I have to try and fix it....
It's pingable, but I am not able to ssh into it....

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Just to say thanks again! The inclusion of the wireguard modules in the kernel has really helped me out and I can retire a raspberry pi which was acting as my VPN server.

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Noticed a new bubba3-kernal was just uploaded, anyone know what it contains/changed ?
Update: AHA ! Just checked that github link and understand that wireguard support was added. This is really useful as I recently needed to use a RaspberryPi to act as a wireguard server to my summer house, I much ...

Re: Can't SSH into B3
Thankyou !
I got lucky and remembered I was running a desktop on it and was able to login via VNC and correct my sshd_config.
But a lesson learnt for next time I try to mess with SSH configurations without truly knowing what I am doing.

Can't SSH into B3
I messed up whilst trying to configure my B3 to allow SSH logins via certificates.
End result, I can no longer SSH into my B3, I get "Permission denied (publickey)."
I know what I did wrong in the ssh_config settings, but can anyone think of a way I can access that file without being able to SSH ...

Re: Bubba B1 failure mode
Thanks !
I agree, it sounds like power supply issues, although I measured them and found the correct 5V/12V supplies, but it doesn't mean they can supply them under load and the correct current. The replacement drive was 10+ years old, but worked when I last used it, which means little.
But I have ...

Bubba B1 failure mode
Sorry for placing this in the B2/B3 support channel, but I don't think the B1 channel is still monitored.
I first bought a Bubba B1 in 2007, it provided good, but slow, service until 2011 when it died, just as the B3 was released. So it went in a box where it stayed until now.
The failure mode was ...

Re: B4 =]
I have many RaspberryPI's running around the place, but I still find my ancient B3 feels quicker for some tasks. For example, I have an X server running on my B3 and it runs so much faster than the X server on my RPI's. Not that I can use it for anything useful, but my B3 is still great for ...

Re: Debian bullseye (11) image 1.0 released for B3
Thanks Charles ! The upgrade went fine for me. I had a few issues with Apache2/PHP/Wordpress after the upgrade, but removing them and re-installing solved my issues. (Directory permissions on the wordpress directory /var/www/html/wordpress had me struggling for a while)
Thanks again for all your ...
