This will just create a small corruption in the jpg file which is easily fixable and worst case will alter the color of a single pixel. For TIFFs it wont even corrupt it. indeed, if your drive is going into failure, (especially with a single-disk setup), no file system is going to protect you.

dovecot is for receiving mail, so you can ignore those log entries (the restarts of dovecot are a little weird though).
